This is unreal. Talk about a massive problem to patch.
Microsoft - you should be ashamed, and if you don't lose a lot of customers over this, I would be very surprised.
Office, Windows, IE, Publisher, Infopath, OneNote, Project, Visio, VS.NET, and more are all effected by a critical bug in JPEG handling. The real killer is that each one of these programs MUST BE PATCHED INDIVIDUALLY!
It's bad enough for companies like ours that is small, but imagine a company with 50 desktops and servers. Probably not quite big enough to have automated patch handling in place, and probably don't have someone on staff to fix these things.
If only I hadn't just purchased a couple of MS Office licenses...
